The Kannada filmdom without Dr Rajakumar presence has completed five years but he stays permanently in the hearts of millions of people no doubt about it.
Today April 12 the day of Sri Rama Navami festival was considered very special by Dr Rajakumar when he was living. Dr Rajakumar was ardent admirer of Lord Sri Rama. He has donned the role of Rama and Krishna but ‘Sri Ramayana’ has always been his favorite. Like how ‘Bhaktha Ambarish’ he had in his ambition to do the role of ‘Rama’ again and again. He had mentioned his all time ambition of ‘Sri Rama’ role on many occasions.
Coming back to what has happened to his memorial at two and half acres of land adjacent to Prasad Studio in Kanteerava Studios – the developments are very bleak.
The officials of the government give the lame excuse of no water supply to conduct the speedy work. This is not acceptable says the millions of fans of Dr Rajakumar.
Eighty percent of the memorial of Dr Rajakumar is over and it requires some more time is depressing. The construction has been taking since three years but the compound wall coming up itself took lot of time.
The government of Karnataka allocated Rs.10 crores for the memorial in which Rs.4.75 crores is spent for the construction purpose in the first stage. The second stage utilized Rs.3.25 crores. By June this year all minute works in and around will be finalized says the officials.
The open air theatre, Yoga and Meditation center, park, colorful lighting, Library plus Dr Rajakumar statue have to come up.
